UUMC Flood Relief Service Project

On Oct. 30, a record flood along Onion Creek displaced more than 1,100 low-income Austin families as Onion Creek crested at 41 feet –  22 feet above ‘floodstage’.  All are invited to be a part of the University UMC response team which will take place this Sunday, Nov 10. Please consider offering a few hours of your time to help our fellow Austinites recover. See the schedule below:

SCHEDULE:
12:45 p.m.: Van/carpool departs from University parking lot
1:00 p.m.: Brief meeting at Crossroads Christian Houser of Prayer
1:30 -5:45 p.m. Deployment at various sites
6:15 p.m. Return to University UMC
6:30 p.m.: Volunteer supper @ University UMC (Fourth Floor)

What to bring: (if possible)
Work gloves, hammer, shovel, safety glasses. facemask

What to wear:
Hard sole shoes or work boots, blue jeans, work gloves
No tennis shoes or shorts.

Who Can Help:
Due to heavy debris, this project is NOT recommended for young children.

Transportation:
Church van + carpoolers may be needed
