LGBTQ Fellowship – A Conversation with Straight Allies

Join us for our next LGBTQ Fellowship in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, July 13th after our 11 o’clock service. We will have lunch available and donations of $5 or more are appreciated. This month we’ll start looking towards planning for this year’s PRIDE parade and our presence in it. We’ll hear about the UUMC Care Team that just took off recently and how their work is going. We will also invite conversation from our allies.

As allies of any marginalized group, it’s helpful to process experiences and share your own stories. This fellowship will be inviting straight allies to share things about how and why they became an ally, what it is like to be straight and carry straight privilege as a Christian, a Methodist, or just a friend to LGBTQ folks. What’s hard, what’s good, what needs to be different?

Come and share, come and listen, come and be. All are welcome! Contact reconciling@uumc.org with questions.
